The intricacies of a cables computer network
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008The highlighted portion of the title itself is self explanatory. Cables computer network can be defined as a cable centric interconnected group of computers. This variety or breed of computer network, forms an integral part of many a high tech application, and is very useful in a number of areas. Some of the areas in which a cables computer network really stands out, include the twin fields of telecommunication and industrial electronics.
There are many ways in which a cables computer network can be classified, a popular interpretation of the same being, according to the scale. The scale format throws up five different categories. These are Personal Area Network or PAN, Local Area Network or LAN, Campus Area Network or CAN, Metropolitan Area Network or MAN, and Wide Area Network or WAN. One common phenomenon seen these days is that, a majority of computer networks use the IP model, which is technically referred to as the Internet Protocol Suite model.
There are many products which contribute towards the building of a cables computer network. Some of these are CAT5e high performance patch leads, CAT5e patch panels, wall mount racks and ladder racks, CX4 high performance cable assemblies, cable management panels, cabling tools and accessories, raceways, networking data cables, and so on. Besides all the products mentioned above, a Cat5e cable is of paramount importance, and one which is widely used in a cables computer network.
A structured cabling system is considered to be the platform, on which a potent IT strategy lies. This statement is quite realistic, and the same holds true, for a cables computer network as well.
