Q: What are the benefits of taking this course?

ICC Certified Installers are able to offer ICC’s Lifetime Certified Site Cabling System Limited Warranty and ICC’s 30-Year Certified Site Cabling System Limited Warranty. (please see warranty for details). ICC Certified Installers who are BICSI members can also receive 7 CEC's for attending the class. The course is taught by a BICSI Certified Instructor who knows the industry and is up to date on the latest information.

No, there are not. Anyone can take this class from beginners to RCDD's.

Q: Where are ICC's Certification classes held?

Classes are held in cities all over the United States of America and Latin America (Mexico and Central America). They are usually held in major metropolitan cities near a major airport. Typically the classes are held in hotel meeting rooms.

Q: How long is the class?

This is a one day course and each class is 8 hours long. The class begins promptly at 8:00 A.M. and lasts until 5:00 P.M. There is a two breaks and a break for lunch.

Q: How do I sign up?

Q: How can I pay the class fee?

The class fee is payable by MC, Visa, AMEX, or by check. Please contact the Certification Program Administrator at (562) 356-3111 for payment.

Q: Why can't I pay online?

For the safety of your credit we ask that you contact the Certification Program Administrator at (562) 356-3111. You can also mail your payment along with the registration form to: ICC - Attn: Certification Program Administrator. 14700 Alondra Blvd., La Mirada, CA 90638. Please make sure to indicate the class date requested on the form.

Q: Can I pay for the class at the class site?

No, the instructor cannot accept payment. Payment is due prior to the class date and must be paid to the Certification Program Administrator.

Q: What happens if I need to cancel my attendance at a class?

Cancellations less then 30 days prior to the class date are subject to a $75 service charge. Confirmed participants who do not attend their scheduled date are liable for the entire fee. Please contact the Certification Program Administrator to cancel.

Q: What if ICC cancels a class?

All classes are subject to cancellation. ICC will notify students at least 10 days prior to the class date. If ICC cancels a class the student will receive a complete class refund.

Q: What happens after I take this course?

Students take a test at the end of the class. The instructor sends the tests to the Corporate Office where the tests are graded, the certificates are issued and recorded in our system, and the certificates are mailed out. Certificates are typically mailed out about 2 weeks after the class date.

Q: How do I receive my BICSI credits?

After completing the class and passing the test the Certification Program Administrator will mail you a certificate along with instructions on how to submit your certification to BICSI to receive your credits. You must be a BICSI member prior to taking the test or the credits will not be valid. For details on becoming a BICSI member visit their website at http://www.bicsi.org/.

Q: My certificate contains a misspelling. Who do I call to get this corrected?

Please contact the Certification Program Administrator at (562) 356-3111 who will issue you a new certificate.

Q: I have a project that I want to have certified under ICC's Lifetime or 30-Year Certified Site Cablign System Limited Warranty. Do I have to be an ICC Certified Installer?

Yes. An ICC Certified Installer must be involved in the project for the project to meet the eligibility requirements. An agreement will need to be signed and the project will also have to be registered with ICC prior to the job's completion. Please contact the Certification Program Administrator for details.

Q: I have left the company that I used to work for and I was certified during my time at the old company. Do I have to get re-certified?

No, it is the technician who is certified, not the company so your certification goes with you. Simply contact the Certification Program Administrator and provide the information of your new company and a new certificate will be issued.


Q: Do I have to renew my certification at any time?

Yes. All ICC Certified Technicians have to renew their certification every five (5) years. This is to keep every ICC Technician up-to-date with changes in products and technology.


Q: Do I have to attend class to renew my certification?

Yes. All ICC Certified Technicians have to attend a class in order to renew their certification. Changes in products and termination techniques will require hands-on training.


Q: Can my CECs be petitioned to CEDIA University?

Yes, ICC is a registered CEDIA CEU Provider. After completing the class and passing the test the Certification Program Administrator will mail you a certificate along with instructions on how to submit your certification to CEDIA to receive your 3.5 credits. Students who complete this course will need to submit the information to CEDIA via our online form: http://www.cedia.net/certification/petition.php
